Planning Your Temporary Fence — A Checklist for Supers

A little planning before the first delivery saves relocations later. When we walk a site with a superintendent, we talk through:

• Gate placement for equipment access. Put vehicle gates where deliveries and heavy equipment actually enter — not where the fence line happens to be convenient. A gate in the wrong corner means re-work later.
• Phase changes. If the site plan has the laydown yard moving when the building goes vertical, tell us up front. Re-deployment is part of the service, and planned moves are faster than surprise ones.
• Public frontage. Street-facing runs usually want privacy screen — it keeps the site tidy for neighbors and cuts down on casual entry. Green or black mesh both work; pick what fits the project.
• Right-of-way and permits. Panels that cross a sidewalk or sit in a public right-of-way can require permission from the city or county. If you're not sure, ask — we'd rather check before the truck rolls.
• Utilities before driven posts. If any posts will be driven rather than set on concrete bases, get utilities marked through 811 first. It's free in both Kentucky and Indiana.

Renting vs. Buying Panels

For projects measured in weeks or months, rental is almost always the right call — no storage, no maintenance, no disposal when the job ends. If you find yourself renting the same panels for a permanent need — a storage yard, a laydown area that isn't going away — that's when a permanent commercial chain-link fence starts to pencil out. Send the site address and an approximate linear footage and we'll price it out — one to two business days for most quotes. Tell us the start date, how long you expect to need the fence, whether you want privacy screen, and where gates need to go, and the quote comes back complete the first time.
