Elizabethtown, KY
Elizabethtown sits at the heart of one of Kentucky's most active industrial corridors — Hardin County, Fort Knox, the Ford Energy facility in Glendale, and the I-65 spine running through it all. S&S Fencing is 35 minutes north in Cox's Creek, which makes us one of the closest contractors who can handle the full range of agricultural, commercial, and industrial work in this market.

Hardin County is in the middle of a generational industrial transition. The Ford Energy facility in Glendale — the former BlueOval SK plant that Ford took full ownership of in December 2025 — is being repurposed for stationary battery energy storage manufacturing, with roughly $2 billion in additional investment, about 2,100 planned jobs, and production targeted to restart in late 2027. That ripples out: contractor activity, supplier expansion, and the build-out of housing and commercial property across Hardin and surrounding counties is happening right now.
Beyond Ford Energy, Hardin County has Fort Knox (a major military installation with its own ongoing perimeter and facility work), a deep agricultural base, and a growing E-town commercial fabric. We've been working this corridor since 2015 — long before Ford Energy was a name. It's home turf.
Three Segments. One Crew.
Hardin, Larue, Grayson, Meade, and the surrounding counties have substantial farm acreage — cattle, hay, mixed livestock, and the estate properties that come with proximity to a growing industrial corridor. We build Kentucky 4-board, crossbuck, high-tensile woven wire, custom farm entrances, ongoing painting and maintenance.

For the Hardin County industrial corridor — Ford Energy supply chain, distribution centers, manufacturing, and utility infrastructure — we install perimeter chain link, anti-climb mesh, cantilever and slide gates with UL 325 operators, bollards, highway guardrail, and temporary panel rental for active job sites. We do not claim work for Ford or Ford Energy directly — but we are positioned to support the broader corridor activity.

Coverage
The Difference
Hardin County is squarely in our backyard. We've been serving this area since 2015. We're closer to most Elizabethtown projects than the Louisville-based contractors, and we have substantially more scale and equipment than the smaller E-town crews.
Project calls answered at 2 a.m. — most competitors talk it; we actually pick up.
Shawn or Shelby walks every project. The phone reaches a decision-maker, not a queue.
Genuine capability across agricultural, commercial, and industrial — not a specialist forced to fake the others.
We don't just build the fence; we keep it looking right. Painting crews on staff for fresh installs and repaint work.
Skid-steers and site-work crews in-house. No waiting on a separate subcontractor.
COIs, W-9s, and lien waivers ready on request.
